Electrical and Electronics CADD

Electrical and electronics engineering is a branch of science which deals with the applications of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. The course diversifies into various fields like the multimedia programmer, technical sales engineer, and project manager. It focuses on giving students practical training to work in laboratories, project and group work. These engineers are responsible for designing, developing and testing electrical equipment. The work profile after completing the course includes designing electronic components apart from software and network system. Students pursuing the course may explore career options in various domains like engineering works, construction, information technology, etc

Electrical AutoCAD

AutoCAD is a drawing tool and is essential for electrical design engineers. AutoCAD is useful for drawing substation schematics, transmission grid schematics, wiring diagram schematics and ladder diagrams. AutoCAD has specific commands to draw wires and assign attributes to them. It also has a large built-in library of electrical symbols and components. The components list covers most big manufacturers. You can also create your own library or buy a symbols library depending on the standard you follow.

Revit MEP

Revit 2016 as modeling tool for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Revit is the most popular architectural design tool from Autodesk, with capabilities for modeling, analysis, documentation, and collaboration. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced users will learn the MEP functions of Revit as it works within the world of Building Information Modeling, or BIM.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

OrCAD is a proprietary software tool suite used primarily for electronic design automation (EDA). The software is used mainly by electronic design engineers and electronic technicians to create electronic schematics and electronic prints for manufacturing printed circuit boards.

OrCAD Capture

OrCAD Capture is a schematic capture application, and part of the OrCAD circuit design suite.Unlike NI Multisim, Capture does not contain in-built simulation features, but exports netlist data to the simulator. OrCAD Capture can also export a hardware description of the circuit schematic to Verilog or VHDL, and netlists to circuit board designers such as OrCAD Layout, Allegro, and others. OrCAD Capture includes a component information system (CIS), that links component package footprint data or simulation behavior data, with the circuit symbol in the schematic. Capture can interface with any database which complies with Microsoft's ODBC standard etc. Data in an MRP, ERP, or PDM system can be directly accessed for use during component decision-making process.

OrCAD PSpice

PSpice was a modified version of the academically developed SPICE, and was commercialized by MicroSim in 1984. MicroSim was purchased by OrCAD a decade later in 1998. OrCAD PSpice is a SPICE circuit simulator application for simulation and verification of analog and mixed-signal circuits.[16] PSpice is an acronym for Personal Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis. OrCAD typically runs simulations for circuits defined in OrCAD Capture, and can optionally integrate with MATLAB/Simulink, using the Simulink to PSpice Interface OrCAD Capture and PSpice Designer together provide a complete circuit simuation and verification solution with schematic entry, native analog, mixed signal, and analysis engines.

OrCAD PSpice Designer is available in two options- PSpice Designer and PSpice Designer Plus. OrCAD PSpice Designer includes OrCAD Capture and OrCAD PSpice solution. An upgrade option to PSpice Designer Plus provides the PSpice Advanced Analysis simulation engine for functional simulation and improvement in design yield and reliability.

The PSpice Advanced Analysis simulation capabilities covers various analyses- Sensitivity, Monte Carlo, Smoke (Stress), Optimizer, and Parametric Plotter providing in depth understanding of circuit performance beyond basic validation. The OrCAD PSpice Simulink- PSpice Integration(SLPS)[20] provides co-simulation and helps verify system level behavior. A circuit to be analyzed using PSpice is described by a circuit description file, which is processed by PSpice and executed as a simulation. PSpice creates an output file to store the simulation results, and such results are also graphically displayed within the OrCAD EE interface.

The electrical CAD software, PC SCHEMATIC Automation, gives you the peace of mind and overall view you need each day. Focus on the electrical design, and let the CAD software handle the practical details

Why should you learn?

In the Automation CAD software, you merely have to drag partial diagrams and modules into your project. And then the documentation is ready. With electrical circuit diagrams, PLC diagrams and filled-in lists of every kind. But you can also draw the electrical diagrams yourself, if you wish to. Beyond the basic drawing functions, Automation offers you a comprehensive series of functions specially designed for electrical projects with IEC/EN standards.

Learning outcomes:

  • Learn the drawing schematics for electrical wiring diagrams, control circuit diagrams, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Learn how the entire electrical documentation is collected in one single document
  • You will understand how tables of contents – at all levels – are automatically updated
